建堂 Church Building

God’s Amazing Plan

Vancouver Christian Logos Church (VCLC) started on September 7, 1997 at Dunbar Community Centre with a handful of Christians sharing a joint vision of planting a church in Vancouver Westside to serve Chinese Christian families.

Looking at the past 15 years of VCLC, we rented at the Dunbar Baptist Church for 3 years, then to the Oakridge Adventist Church and a Ministry Centre for the next 10 years, now at Culloden Church since September 2011…

Finally, it’s exciting as a church member of VCLC to be standing at the edge of Canaan, looking in and praying for a place we may call home.

Over the years, as part of the church building committee, we made many inquiries. We visited church properties, we door knocked, and made proposals at different churches. We made offers on properties, we applied for change of zone use at City Hall, and we prayed for God’s hand…

Finally, it all came together in February 2010.

In a prime residential area, with neighbouring properties snapped up by developers slotted to build high-end townhouses, a beautiful 15,500 sq. ft. corner lot at Granville and 52nd was still available. We made contact with the owner and initial enquiries at City Hall, and were told it is possible if we obtain a Development Permit to change from residential to church zone. Being a corner lot, it met all basic requirements. We were told it’s possible! We prayed and we seek for God’s will. We did fund raising pledges and applied for a mortgage. Performed our due diligence all within an amazing 30-day subject period…

Finally, by faith as a united church body, we bought our future church site at 6792 Granville on March 10, 2010.

We took possession on June 29, 2010. Working with our architect, we made drawings with the different consultants and negotiated with the city. We continue to fund raise, prayed, seeking the Lord’s willing…

Finally, we received our Development Permit approval on July 4, 2012.

We reviewed our current church health. We strived to overcome our challenges of afternoon worship in a new church. We further fund raised, we prayed and we seeked. Raised $100,000 in 2012 – just what we needed for the Building Permit submission…

Finally, we are ready to move forward to embark on the Building Permit application in 2013!

Let us continue to Pray, and Pray, and Pray for our Lord’s mighty hands and God’s Amazing Plan for VCLC.

Humbly In His Grace,
